Hello there!
We are the Women in Engineering Programs (WIEP), a resource for prospective, new, and continuing students at UIC College of Engineering!
Our goal is to represent the underrepresented and build a resource on campus for all students, regardless of gender identity, while encouraging discussion and networking for minoritized groups in engineering, specifically women-identifying and non-binary people.

Welcome to the Women in Engineering Programs!
Through a variety of programming, academic advising, scholarship opportunities, and student organizations, WIEP promotes and encourages the success of all students in the College of Engineering.
WIEP also leads efforts in recruiting and retaining female students in the College of Engineering, including implementing K-12 outreach programs. In partnership with all engineering departments and support/success units on campus, we strive to increase the percentage of female engineering graduates and ensure that they are prepared to pursue advanced degrees and/or full-time employment in their respective fields.

Girls Who Code at UIC 2026 - 2027: Applications will open in May 2026!
Girls Who Code at UIC Club is a FREE year-round program for 9th-12th grade students in the Chicago-land area who are interested in exploring computer science. At UIC, we run the program every year with four different levels, designed to build on one another. No prior experience is needed — students start from the basics and progress each year, gaining hands-on experience that helps them grow their skills and confidence in computer science.
