Graduate Society of Women Engineers (GradSWE)
Graduate Society of Women Engineers
Graduate Society of Women Engineers (GradSWE) at UIC is a subsection of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) dedicated to supporting the academic, professional, and personal growth of graduate students while promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM. We provide opportunities such as research talks, faculty coffee chats, networking with industry, professional development workshops, and wellness events. Alongside these programs, GradSWE also fosters community through social and de-stressing activities that help members build connections and thrive in their studies and careers.
Members benefit from a supportive peer community, faculty and industry connections, career development resources, and access to SWE’s broader online network and conferences. Undergraduate students are also welcome to engage with GradSWE, particularly through events like Demystifying Grad School, which provides guidance on scholarships, financial aid, and pathways beyond an undergraduate degree.
